Psychologia zaufania zajmuje się zagadnieniami, które bezpośrednio dotyczą naszych codziennych życiowych doświadczeń. Określa czynniki, które powodują zaufanie oraz konsekwencje zaufania dla rzeczywistych globalnych problemów w zakresie zdrowia, polityki, terroryzmu, środowiska pracy oraz wiary i religii. Bada również znaczenie braku zaufania oraz przyczyny nieufności osób, grup i organizacji.
W świecie, w którym zaufanie oddziałuje na nasze codzienne życie, Psychologia zaufania przedstawia wpływ zaufania na nasze relacje i dostarcza praktycznych wskazówek dotyczących naszego własnego zaufania do innych.
Ken J. Rotenberg jest profesorem psychologii w University of Keele w Wielkiej Brytanii. Od ponad czterdziestu lat prowadzi badania naukowe, ze szczególnym zainteresowaniem podejmuje tematykę zaufania w dzieciństwie i adolescencji.
