Synopsis

Książka dotyczy przejawów, sposobu działania i skutków funkcjonowania metafor - zarówno werbalnych, jak i wizualnych - w wielu obszarach życia. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono w niej dziedzinom praktycznym, takim jak: prawo, polityka, edukacja, psychoterapia, perswazja. Z tego powodu ta niezwykle pasjonująca publikacja może stać się źródłem inspiracji nie tylko dla osób zainteresowanych zagadnieniami filozoficznymi czy kognitywistycznymi, lecz także dla każdego, kto „tropi” metaforę we współczesnym języku.

Monografia zawiera konkretne wskazówki i analizy wpływu zewnętrznej formy metafory na jej znaczenie oraz oddziaływania metafor na doktryny i praktyczne aspekty życia. Jej celem jest zachęcenie czytelnika do świadomego korzystania z opisanych mechanizmów.
