Adaptacja i postrzeganie imigrantów w państwach europejskich: Studium porównawcze

Synopsis

Książka porusza problematykę migracji, koncentrując się na czynnikach mających wpływ na proces adaptacji imigrantów do społeczeństwa przyjmującego oraz na kształtowanie się określonego nastawienia do przybyszów wśród jego członków. Przedstawiono w niej szeroki historyczny, teoretyczny i polityczny kontekst współczesnej mobilności międzynarodowej w Europie. Zaprezentowane wyniki analiz obejmują porównania w czasie i przestrzeni, pokazując: co wpływa na poziom zaadaptowania imigrantów i nastawienie do nich członków społeczeństw przyjmujących, jak oba te elementy są ze sobą powiązane oraz jaką rolę mogą odgrywać w ich kształtowaniu się wydarzenia i charakterystyki poziomu makro. Na podkreślenie zasługuje również zastosowanie stosunkowo nowego podejścia analitycznego polegającego na stworzeniu syntetycznego wskaźnika do pomiaru adaptacji imigrantów. Całość tworzy złożony i wielowymiarowy obraz doświadczenia migracji w Europie na początku XXI wieku, wyłaniający się z analiz ilościowych. Książka ta powinna zainteresować przedstawicieli  nauk  społecznych, w szczególności zaś socjologów i specjalistów z obszaru studiów nad współczesnymi migracjami, jak również pracowników administracji, którzy w swojej pracy zawodowej mierzą się z kwestiami związanymi z migracją.
