Nasza Ostoja

This publication, and with the intention of a series of publications, was initiated by Rafał Bogusławski, the President of the Ostoja Clan Association. Its goal is to gather documents and information that have been and are very scattered. They can be found in state and private archives, but unfortunately with each passing year, their number decreases – especially those from private archives, and also, they are not always accessible. The compiled materials are intended to popularize knowledge about the Clan of Ostoja.
The publication of this collection of articles was initiated by Rafał Bogusławski, the current President of the Ostoja Clan Association. With the hope that this will be the first publication of many to follow, the present collection consists of documents and information which have been located in both state archives and private collections. Volume I will consists of a number of articles which deals with notable families and members of the Clan, as well as their coat of arms, associations, and history. The work behind this publication has been a tedious one – by each year, it becomes increasingly harder to find original documents, especially through private sources. Nevertheless, the first steps of this particular journey have been taken, and with those steps, we hope that these complied material will serve as a foundation for future academics, historians, and members of the public who take an interest in the history and origins of the Clan of Ostoja.
