Dylematy sprawiedliwości.
Poetyka i ideologia dike w tradycji Teognisa

Celem pracy jest rekonstrukcja znaczeń i funkcji starogreckiej kategorii dike w zbiorze elegii przypisywanych Teognisowi (zbiór Corpus Theognideum). W pierwszej części książki przedstawiono performatywno-pragmatyczne ujęcie tradycji teognidejskiej, uwzględniające oralny charakter archaicznej poezji oraz jej funkcjonowanie w środowisku elitarnych bankietów zwanych symposia. Następnie przeanalizowano instytucjonalne, normatywne i moralne znaczenia dike, odwołując się zarówno do eposu homeryckiego i hezjodejskiego, jak i do szerzej rozumianej elegii archaicznej. Przedstawione analizy prowadzą do rewizji utrwalonych sposobów opisywania relacji między różnymi wymiarami znaczeniowymi dike – a w szczególności do podważenia tezy, że jej moralne i abstrakcyjne znaczenia wykształciły się wtórnie wobec proceduralnego sensu tego pojęcia, związanego z rozstrzyganiem sporów we wspólnocie. Ostatnia część pracy ukazuje polityczne (ideologiczne) funkcje dyskursu o sprawiedliwości: w epoce archaicznej dike stanowiła kategorię aksjologiczną służącą opisywaniu i normowaniu relacji interpersonalnych, porządku wspólnoty oraz jej hierarchii i granic; umożliwiała zarazem naturalizowanie określonych wyobrażeń o porządku społecznym i legitymizowanie istniejących hierarchii. Te procesy ulegały następnie przeobrażeniom w toku transmisji elegii znanych nam ze zbioru Corpus Theognideum: w Atenach V i IV w. p.n.e. tradycja teognidejska stała się częścią repertuaru środowisk antydemokratycznych, które nadawały odziedziczonym utworom nowe znaczenia i funkcje ideologiczne, wykorzystując je do artykulacji własnej tożsamości oraz krytyki demokratycznego porządku polis.
