How did you die? Trying to Meet the Images of Death on the Basis of Two Units (Television) about the Death of Andrzej Stasiuk
In the publication author concentrates on onirism in drama written by Andrzej Stasiuk, found as
“day-dreaming” or as “journey into yourself ”. The main character experiences an internal journey, during
which tries to acknowledge the truth about death by constantly reminding peering in the events of the
past, getting used to the continuous penetration of death in real life. Author emphasies the opinion of
Mirosław Górecki and Andrzej Stasiuk, wonders how many worlds we live in and we die in? When we
move from the known to the unknown, from the consciousness of the unconsciousness? Author does
not give clear answers because of the extent of the phenomenon and the lack of complete knowledge
on the subject. This leads to the conclusion that the material being transforms into immaterial, living
somewhere in nothingness without giving us the “living” response. In conclusion the author shows that
Andrzej Stasiuk highlights the existence of two areas: material and transition. These two worlds are closed
in the space of two acts of the drama. Through the presentation of two coherent worlds author shows how
different we are facing the death. The author of the article concludes her reflections by underlining that
“untouchable”, “undetectable” and “mysterious” as life itself a person searches in real life; the essence of
looking for life, deciding for deprivation of physical existence of someone or yourself, but never located.
Escape to the truth sometimes continuously imagining, dreaming, being specific of intellectual struggle
with death. Their elusiveness makes it impossible to answer the question: how you really die?
