Terrible Dreams of Russian Romanticists — Pushkin, Lermontov, Gogol

This article includes the analysis of oneiric themes in literary works of Russian Romanticists. According
to the author’s observations, these writers combined themes of dream and daydreaming with other literary themes: demonological, frenetic, infernal or lunar. In the article, the author focused on nightmares or such dreams of characters which cause their destruction, death, madness. Literary works of Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov and Nikolai Gogol were used as research material.
