Imagination — Poetic and Religious (in Polish Literature After 1989)

A dream leads us not only through an imagination as the imagination itself may become a clarification
of faith — of what we believe in through the power of our faith. Imagination operates like faith: by here and
now, with the use of writing it brings the use of metaphor up to this date as a one of a poem’s elements.
It is also an attempt to give an answer to a question what was the shape of poetic imagination after
1989 and what kind of influences are reflected in it. Sense of imagination is manifested in the imagination
subordinated to dreams: it occurs in the case of Tomasz Rozycki’s work. “Imagination-dream” causes
the resonance in the poetry of two another authors — in work of Artur Szlosarek it plays with language
and in case of Marzanna Bogumila Kielar’s poetry it is visible in a form pertaining with the ancient virtues:
love and death.
