The author tries to show the hermeneutical attempt to read mystical works of the Juliusz Słowacki by
Jarosław Marek Rymkiewicz in his biographical sketch Juliusz Słowacki is Asking for the Time. It should be
emphasised that especially in the works of romantics Rymkieiwcz is looking for a remedy for the progressive crisis of culture, which is associated with the crisis of the world of values. Writer presents Słowacki as
a poet of existence and this way he is making us aware, that the sphere of the spirit is based on a human
being; therefore our life cannot be perceived in the categories of the materiality and the corporealities, but
in the categories of the intellect through the ego and internal experiences.
