Laboratory animals for scientific and educational purposes in biomedical experiments

The book is a well illustrated and competently prepared compendium of theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for working with laboratory animals with educational videos illustrating the basic techniques of handling (handling) and performing procedures: injection, aasthesia most commonly used for the production of monoclonal antibodies and as multifunctional models in scientific and medical research (mouse, rat, guinea pig and rabbit).
Individual chapters of the monograph are devoted to the anatomy, physiology, genetics, microbiology and compliance with the 3Rs of experimental animals. Safety principles for working with experimental animals are described with a view to preserving animal welfare on the planes of physical, psychological and biological comfort, along with full implementation of the applicable ethical principles of the 3Rs, encouraging, among other things, the use of alternative methods instead of in vivo experiments in those experiments where this is possible.
The Anatomy of Laboratory Animals chapter, illustrating the various internal systems of animals after dissecting the animals, provide a valuable complement to the diagrams of autonomous structure and show the reader the appearance of individual internal organs in nature. The chapter on Genetic Engineering discusses the most significant milestones in the development of scientific and applied research in recent years, noting the new challenges facing biomedical sciences, which require not only advanced technologies and research instruments, but also modern biological experimental models, stressing that much to offer in this field are advanced techniques of transgenesis and cloning, which create new prospects for the progress of basic, biotechnological and biomedical research.
