The article reports on the discussion on “Who needs tourism (to be happy?)”, conducted by participants at the XXXIX Seminarium Terenowe national conference, “Warsztaty z geografii turyzmu”, which took place in Łódź on 22–23 September 2023. During the debate, attention was paid to the benefits of tourism development for various entities: tourists, tourism entrepreneurs and residents of the visited areas.
