Streszczenie

Autorka przybliża metakolaż, omawiając hybrydową koncepcję metafory oraz sposoby myślenia metaforycznego w filozofii, nauce czy ideologii. Wielowątkowy opis różnych metafor, pełniących funkcję modeli myślenia, ukazuje ich podobieństwo do szyby. Patrzymy przez nią, poznając świat, ale nie wiemy, czy jest ona całkiem przeźroczysta, porysowana, a może matowa lub mająca własne rysunki i barwy, które nakładają się na to, co usiłujemy przez nią zobaczyć. Metafory bowiem tworzą kategorie poznawcze, które stanowią źródło interpretacji napływających danych. Ta ich podwójna rola stawia nas wobec pytania o prawdziwość poznania opartego na tym mechanizmie oraz o zakres niepewności poznawczej, czyli tzw. manowców. Autorka podaje wiele przykładów dochodzenia do takich granic poznania i próbuje zgłębić zagadnienia dotyczące roli tego mechanizmu w myśleniu, również naukowym, jego wpływu na poznanie i ocenę jego wartości. Lektura publikacji pozwala nie tylko na teoretyczne zapoznanie się z metakolażem, lecz także, dzięki podjęciu własnych przemyśleń, może przyczynić się do udoskonalenia tego procesu poznawczego i do zwiększenia szans na lepszą interpretację zmiennej rzeczywistości.
